Dishwasher are a part of virtually all modern kitchens. They are time saving devices that make after dinner clean-up a breeze.
How Dishwashers Work
Dishwashers heat incoming water and then send it through small nozzles to create higher water pressure. The pressurized water is then sprayed by a rotating arm inside the dishwasher. The circular moment of the arm is induced by the same water pressure that comes out of the nozzles.
A timer controls the operation of the dishwasher. It tells it when to rinse, add detergent, rinse again, and then begin the heated drying process. Some people choose not to use the heated drying system, and allow the dishes to air dry.
Dishwashers can make a lot of noise. If your kitchen is far away from the living and bedroom areas of your home dishwasher noise may not be an issue. This, however, is not the case in most homes.
Quiet dishwashers have stainless steel tubs that are wrapped in sound deadening insulation. They are usually twice the price of cheaper plastic units, but most are so quiet that they can be run at night while you’re asleep.
